Anna the Pirate

Anna went to a Pirate birthday party for Coy, a friend in her class at school. When the kids arrived, Coy's mom dressed them up in bandanas, eye patches, gold hoop clip-on earrings and gave them each a sword. They had a great time playing, eating and "digging for gold" - Coy's mom had a baby pool with sand and water, in it were buried gold-painted rocks for the kids to find with shovels and rakes (although most preferred using their hands). Anna was fascinated with the pirate theme, and for the rest of the day, she did what pirates do - I had to make sure that chicken nuggets were "pirate food" before she could eat them (I am sure that anything healthy would not have qualified as pirate food).
